I have admired this set for some time and finally decided upon it. Love the owls! Unfortunately, I am disappointed in the quality of the materials used. I have purchased crib sets in the same price point, and find the material to be of superior quality. The bumper in this set is super, although we are not sure we will use it due to the safety issues with it. I just wish they'd used a higher thread count for the sheets, it's scratchy. 3 stars for the bumper and the design. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Best crib set... By Amanda Aikman DwellStudio is expensive, there's no doubt about it. However, we made it a point to buy adult versions (different patterns!) of the same brands as the crib bedding to judge the quality of the material. The only sheets that I sleep better on than these are Serena and Lily. And those crib sets are way more expensive. Dwell sheets (you have to wash them first or they will feel stiff going on!) soften each time I wash them, the colors hold up beautifully, and I love that I can buy extra fitted sheets to coordinate with the set. As far as the set goes, I don't understand why people buy a 4 or 5 piece bedding set if they are not intending on using the bumper. The safety debate has raged on and on, but they are still being sold and I feel comfortable using one. The companies would not be able to continue to sell them if they were unsafe. Just in case, to solve this issue in our house, we swaddled our son until he was several months old. We swaddled him tightly and this kept him in one place and on his back, as recommended by our pediatrician (who had no problem with the bumper). The only other piece that seems a bit unusable is the small comforter. My solution? Throw it over the rocking chair and use it to shield baby's face during feedings. It can also double as a makeshift nursing cover if you need something in a hurry (you have guests over), a tummy time mat, or just a blanket used under supervision. We will continue with Dwell bedding as our child transitions into a twin bed and beyond. I love it for myself as well (although I hate to say, not the Dwell for Target - the thread count is too low), although Serena and Lily will always be a personal favorite! One more thing - you will NOT find anything cuter than this design. It is gender neutral (I think), and the work on the bumper is so intricate. They also make tons of accessories to match. I over $30 for additional sheets, I just picked up a two pack at babies r us or something (probably 2 for $15 or so) and I don't find the fabric quality a bit different. Thats rather disheartening. Beware-NOT Organic By EricaJ527 I chose the Lambs and Ivy Habitat bedding set because it was advertised as being organic. When I received the set, I was very disappointed to discover that it is not organic whatsoever. I first became suspicious because on the actual packaging of the bedding, it is described as 100% Natural Cotton, not organic. When I opened it and looked at the materials tag, I found out that it is Made in China of 100% Cotton. How is this organic? Plus, the filling is 100% polyester, which is clearly not an organic material. Customers should be wary of misleading advertising related to organic products. Companies are realizing that many consumers are looking for ways to be green and they are taking advantage of this tendency. I feel this product is an example of deceptive marketing practices. Many people choosing organic products are doing so because they care about the health and well-being of their families. They also most likely have an interest in environmental sustainability. If you are choosing this product because it is organic, please look for something else. I gave one star because the bedding is cute and I suppose if you're not actually interested in whether it's organic, you may like it. I did attempt to contact Lambs and Ivy directly with my concerns. Spoke with VP of sales regarding organic issue By Jayme I have this item on my baby registry on Amazon. After reading the other reviews, I was a little hesitant to get the bedding since no one could confirm it as organic. After about a month of trying to contact Lambs and Ivy, I finally spoke with the VP of sales there who informed me that the bedding set is made of all natural cotton and materials, free of harmful dyes and any pesticides. It is organic, but for whatever reason, they don't stamp it organic at the factory. Their website does not claim the bedding set is organic, but Amazon does and she said she would get that changed. She kindly offered to send me a free blanket from the Habitat line and spoke very cordially to me. I was very impressed with her customer service (once I finally got ahold of her). I plan to leave it on my registry and use the bedding. I have already received the habitat hamper as a gift and it is just precious. Just thought I would share this helpful info for any others interested but unsure, it is safe for your baby, just not stamped that way. This set is cute and gender neutral. It works well with our crib. The one complaint that I have with this product is that you'll need to iron it prior to putting it on your crib. It wrinkles every time you take it out of the wash.NOTE/WARNING: I do have one piece of advice....The bumpers for this set need to be tied to the rails of your crib. If you have a section of your crib (whether it be the back or front of the crib) that has a portion that has solid wood (in other words: it has no slats), then you will not be able to attach a portion of the bumper to the crib. This is the case with our crib. We have 3 sides as opposed to all four sides with the bumper displayed. I think I first read about the concept of mesh bumpers in Consumer Reports. I was thinking maybe I'd just go without bumpers, but at about 5 months, my daughter started moving a lot in her crib, and I'd find her in the morning or in the middle of the night sleeping sideways in the crib, with her legs sticking out the side of the crib. At first, I thought it was sort of funny and decided it really wasn't dangerous, but one night, I found that she had used her new rolling skills to roll over onto her tummy. But she not only was on her tummy, she had her legs sticking out the side of the crib (almost up to her thighs) and thus was stuck on her tummy. This really scared me, as she wouldn't have been able to roll onto her back, and this could have increased her SIDS risk. I started using the mesh bumpers within days after that and I feel SO much better now. Legs and arms remain in the crib. I waited to submit this review a few weeks because I wanted to make sure that she couldn't get her legs or arms stuck in the bumper, but no, the mesh (altho' not 100% taut) has not presented any new hazards. It even works well with the drop-side (the dropside slides down with the mesh bumper still in place). One thing to note: I never could tell from the online description whether this product had any cushioning. It does have some cushion to it, but if that's the main thing you need a bumper for, a traditional bumper would be better for that problem. Alejandro When I was pregnant and shopping for the nursery, I was torn between what type of bumper to buy. One one hand I liked the softness of the Carter's brand bumper, but I liked the "breathable" bumper because my daughter was born in the beginning of summer and I wanted her to stay as cool as possible; so I bought the breathable bumper. When I put it on the crib, it looked very nice and while my daughter was little and imobile, it was very useful. As soon as she began to roll around, about 4 months, I would wake in the night to screams...her litttle arms and legs would get caught in the spacing of the crib, up and over the bumper! She would roll and turn while sleeping and apparently her limbs would lift over the bumper and the bumper would crumble under the light pressure of a babies arm. I have since bought the Carter's brand bumper and I am happy. It stands up to her limbs and no more limbs get caught. But beware it falls apart when you wash it. I followed the washing instructions (gentle cycle, tumble dry low), and the bumper pad fell apart in 2 places! And the quilt doesn't look like it will hold up through many more washes either. I bought this off [...] and am currently waiting for a response from them, so I can return it (*fingers crossed*). The set is absolutely gorgeous! The set is NOT perfect by any means so here is my break-down of the pros and cons: Pros: + Very unique set with lots of vibrant colors that are sure to catch the baby's eye. + Gender Neutral + The set comes with a quilt, fitted sheet, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, window valance, and crib bumpers. Cons: - Fabric quality/softness ---> ROUGH! For the price, I'd rather give up the window valance which I'll never use and have the company invest more to at least make a quality fitted sheet which is basically the ONLY part of this set that the baby will ever really have contact with anyway! - For a "Jungle" jigsaw...the [non-included] accessories for the set are too giraffe-based. Seems more like a giraffe theme if you get all of the matching accessories (mobile, hamper, boa blanket, wall decal...etc.) If this is a problem for you, then you'll have to do some mixing and matching for the other stuff. I loved the set enough to use it to help me set my nursery theme, despite the cons. If you are really in love with this set overall, I'd advise you to get a different fitted sheet (different brand) so your baby has something soft to lay his/her head on. Also, after reading the earlier review of this product on here, I washed the set as instructed (on gentle cycle in the washing machine) but then let it air-dry. I didn't have any problems with the set falling apart and don't really foresee any problems with the sturdiness of the set as of yet. The colors stayed nice and bright after being washed...which I'm really happy about. I'll try to update this review later as I get more wear out of it so I can see how well it lasts. Very Soft But Deceiving Picture By Bearhitch I will say that I was really excited to get this bed set and found myself rather disappointed when I opened it. In the pictures, I felt like the darker pink would be more pronounced than it is... in reality it seems somewhat dull and there is a lot more orange than I realized (I hate the color orange). However, the fabrics are very soft, there are several different types of textures. My biggest complaint is the presence of orange you don't notice in the pictures and that the pinks do not contrast nearly as much as they do in the pictures. Overall though I am going to keep it, simply because first of all it was a good deal pricewise and I think I can balance out all of that pink and orange to save myself the hassle of sending it back. So its not that its a bad set - just please do know that if you hate orange this set may not be for you and know that the darker pink in the pictures really isn't. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Love the bedding, but... By lisa2011 I was so excited to receive my little girls bedding in the mail. When it arrived at my house I opened it to find my daughters name was spelled completely wrong. I called them and they had me ship it back to fix the spelling. It took them three weeks to ship it back to me, and when the fixed product arrived, the mail man came to collect the postage, apparently they didn't pay to ship it back. I contacted wpic store to tell them of my issue and they said they would refund me with amazon credit, for the amount the postage was. They emailed me saying they refunded the amount, and it never showed up on my account. About 2 days later, I went in my baby's room to find 4 of the strings that hold the bumper pad to the rails had completely popped off and the bumper was completely sideways in her crib. They sent me a new one at no cost. All in all, they have horrible customer service. After my problems with the bumper, I would give the bedding set 5 stars as my baby's room is adorable. As far as customer service goes, I would have to say they deserve 1 star. I will advise my friends and family never to order from this company. Definitely not worth the time and money! Polson We initially registered for the Lambs & Ivy Zoofari bedding collection, but found this for more than half the price. While the materials aren't quite as soft, the pattern is still really cute and it meets our needs. It doesn't have as many matching accessories, but I've found the Zoofari pattern is close enough to be used with this one. For instance, I have the Zoofari rug, mobile and night light and it would take close inspection to know they weren't all from the same collection. Others have mentioned that the sheet isn't very soft and I'll agree with that. I have the sheet on the bed because it looks cute, but I use an Ultimate Crib Sheet on top of it anyway, so the softness isn't that much of an issue. Perfect for anyone who is attempting to step beyond the pinks and browns when decorating a baby girl's nursery. We chose a garden theme for our little one and this bedding set fit perfectly. It's soft, organic, and the colors are much better than they show up in the picture. The fitted sheet is pictured as blue, but it actually comes in a tan that matches the bottom of the crib skirt. The flower designs on the duvet are also printed on the part of the bumper that faces out, adding so much more to the overall design and presentation of this bedding set. One caveat, I would not buy it for more than $100. If you can wait, Amazon will eventually drop the price to under $70. Diapers.com had it for $113 at one point. I got mine for $65 from Amazon. It is a gorgeous bedding set well worth over $100, but if you want to save some money I'd advise you shop around or wait it out. Nice idea, not as pictured By shopmo I have a safari themed room for my two little boys. I have searched and searched for cute picture frames that go along with this frame. I had thought I had reached the end of my quest with this product. Alas, I did not. The picture frames arrived with white ribbon to hang the pictures from instead of brown and it was ridiculously long. The "tan" picture frame is more of a brownish pink and they are made of cheap MDF board. The only reason I am keeping them is because it is such a PAIN to return and the cost associated with returning is not worth it. Would I order these again? Maybe, if the total price was $10 but certainly NOT for $24.95. I am still going to keep my eyes open for CUTE, well made, well represented picture frames for my little boys room. As a side note, you might be thinking, well what did you expect for the price? There is an imprint on the beige sections of the same color animal print with a black stitch outline. It is made out of a very soft, light weight yet durable microsuede. I was very impressed with the whole set. You have to see it up close in order see what a elegant yet classic crib set it is. To look at the picture it looks alittle boring and morbid with the black but it is the opposite. Everyone who has seen it gives the best reviews. Haikal I bought this set for our second child, mainly based on the # of items you get in the set for the price. Pros: Liked that it came with a mobile, a lot of of sets don't even have a mobile available to buy separately that matches. Also liked that I could buy extra valence and matching lamp (got those from CSN baby.) Colors are vibrant, cute print. Amazon was great with delivery time, just 3 days - and had free shipping. Cons: Fabric is kind of thin, and very wrinkled when you open package. Honestly kind of scared to iron b/c of quality of material. I have a standard crib, and sheets and bedskirt BARELY fit. Granted, I did wash and dry them before putting on the crib....as anyone hopefully will. Bumper pad is also just a smidge small for the crib, but works OK. Diaper holder small and cheaper looking due to the thin material. Again, just ok. Same with the curtains. I had bought a Kidsline set from [...] for my first child. That crib set blows this set away as far as quality goes. Way thicker, higher quality fabric. Much more durable, better fit. Though, when all was said and done, was about double the price of this set. This set is ok for the price I paid, but I probably wouldn't order again. Even with all the cons, it's ok b/c it serves the purpose of making the room cute for my little girl. I don't use the comforter on the baby anyway, since it is unsafe to put a blanket like that on a baby. I will hang on the wall. The toy pouch is actually very big and everything is embroidered and appliqued, not just printed on like some others. My daughter was very happy with the set and it looks great in the room. The only complaint I have is that the red is not red, but a rusty orange color, which I did not really notice in the pictures. Excellent Quality Bedding By Amber I was looking for something gender neutral since we are adopting and don't know if it is a girl or boy. This set exceeded my expectations. The fabric is in a couduroy print and it is sooo cute. There are endless possibilities in terms of choosing a color for the wall. I will be sure to post a pic once everything is all done. What they DONT show you in this ad is that there is a ribbon tied around the monkeys neck with the NoJo logo repeating around it. I tried to take it off but it's sewn onto the monkey in multiple spots. This annoyed me a lot. It looks like something you'd win from a NoJo fair rather than a cute monkey. Kwan We bought this set for our convertible crib and the price was great compared to some of the other ones we had looked at. However, the bumper doesn't quite go around the entire crib and once we get to the end the ties are just single ties that we can't quite figure out how we're suppose to tie. In the end we decided to not use the bumper at all which is a shame because the set is so cute. We ended up using all the pieces except for 3: the bumper pad and the 2 window valances. (I was afraid that stitching or the bears would come off when I washed it, but nope-- still perfect) We got it in the mail yesterday and it is GORGEOUS; asbolutely perfect for our little boy's room when he gets here in a few more weeks. The colors are very calming and neutral and I love the fact that each teddy bear has a different texture. Soft textures, adorable, not too "baby-gaggy"! By E. Chapman I'd already purchased a very similar bed set from a very expensive designer when I stumbled upon this one. This one was even cuter, and was a 13pc for half as much as I'd spent on a 4pc. So many different soft textures, which was what I was looking for. LOVE the bears and the neutral colors! I can't wait to put my baby boy in this next month! I've gotten so many compliments on it, and it looks a LOT more expensive than it is. Quality is great - only complaint is that one of the bears on my comforter has his brown nose stitching UNDERNEATH the patch of tan cloth - causing it to look like a frightening pig nose. I don't know if I can swap that out or what, but it's not a huge deal considering I took back the other "brand name" set, and saved hundreds of dollars overall since I'd had to buy all the "extras" in addition to the 4pc set, and this one CAME WITH all that. We could not find the sex of the child before and had gone with a room in neutral colors, mostly green and some sunbathing. The interesting thing is that his room is green and light brown, because we went with neutral colors because we did not find sex when I was pregnant with him. The colors on his crib sheet was oriented more towards the green. This switch is ideal, because the main color is tan / brown with a green accent. It made the boy more laundry now. I love it!
